\n Impact Offering | Vibrant Church

In 1962, John F. Kennedy told a nation it would go to the moon — not because it was easy, but because it was hard. Seven years later, a man walked on it. Pastor Brandon opened Vibrant’s Vision Sunday with that story, and two others — Martin Luther King Jr.’s dream and Winston Churchill’s 1940 refusal to surrender — to make one point: vision gives people the courage to fight for a future they cannot yet see.

This message casts Vibrant’s vision for 2027: four ways the church is reaching people far from God, this year’s Impact Offering, and the conviction that the church was never meant to be a museum for the saints, but a hospital for the broken.

A Vision Worth Fighting For

Before Jesus ascended, he gave his followers one final commission: “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations…and surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28:18-20). It’s a vision for the capital-C church — the global church across every generation — and Vibrant is part of it. Jesus described how that vision plays out geographically in Acts 1:8: “You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Jerusalem was their city. Judea and Samaria was their nation. The ends of the earth was the world. Vibrant frames its own calling the same way — local, national, and global — through what Pastor Brandon calls four impact lanes.

Four Lanes, One Mission

Globally, Vibrant partners with organizations providing disaster relief, feeding children at partner schools, and getting Bibles into closed countries to support the underground church. Nationally, the church partners with the Association of Related Churches — a church-planting network with roughly a 90% success rate, against about 10% nationally — and a four-year accredited college training future pastors and youth leaders. Locally, Vibrant partners with Sheridan House, a Broward County ministry for single parents and at-risk kids, and runs what it calls the Big Five: a block party, Easter, At the Movies, Welcome Home Sunday, and Christmas — outreach events that have led to 586 salvations and 282 baptisms over the last three years. And for the next generation, the church is committed to making sure money is never the reason a teenager misses camp, alongside a new kids’ curriculum built to grow with a child from toddler through young adult.

A Hospital for the Broken

“The church is not a museum for the saints,” Pastor Brandon said. “It’s a hospital for the broken.” That’s the thesis behind every lane — the point was never buildings or stained glass, even though Vibrant hopes for a building of its own one day. It’s people. Whatever brought you to church broken — a decision of your own or someone else’s — you’re in the right place. The goal, in his words, isn’t to point fingers at who made the mess. It’s to roll up your sleeves and help clean it up.

Where This Lands

On December 6 — five Sundays out, on purpose — Vibrant will take its one special offering of the year: the Impact Offering. The five-week gap is deliberate. Pastor Brandon doesn’t want a decision made in the emotion of a Sunday; he wants one made in prayer. “A farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop,” he said, quoting 2 Corinthians 9:6-7, “but the one who plants generously will get a generous crop…You must decide in your heart how much to give, and don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure.” The vision behind the Impact Offering isn’t abstract — it’s marriages restored, addictions broken, kids who grow up knowing God, teenagers who become missionaries on their own school campuses. As Pastor Brandon put it, the goal is simple: until Broward looks like heaven. This week’s step isn’t to write a check today. It’s to start praying about what God is putting on your heart for the Impact Offering, talk it over with your family, and — since the whole point of the vision is reaching one more person — text someone who doesn’t know Jesus and invite them to come see.
